5.Teaching Practice
When doing teaching practice, I first make lesson plans and media that I will use according to the topic and consult it with my copereting teacher as well as my mentor and then do teaching practice according to the procedures in the lesson plan.
1. Teaching prosedures
1. Preliminary Activities
As a teacher, I greet the students, pray, check attendance, and remind them of classroom rules. I also conduct a brief review of the previous lesson to activate prior knowledge.
2.Motivation
As a teacher, I capture students' interest by conducting a simple experiment. I encourage them to observe the changes and discuss their thoughts, leading them to the main topic.
3.Presentation
As a teacher, I introduce the topic by explaining key concepts. I use visual aids, real-life examples, and guided discussions to help students connect the lesson with their experiences.
4.Exploration
As a teacher, I divide students into groups and assign them an activity where they analyze and interpret data. This allows them to explore the topic through hands-on learning.
5.Explanation
As a teacher, I encourage each group to present their findings. I facilitate discussions, provide clarification, and reinforce important concepts to ensure understanding.
6.Application
As a teacher, I engage students in an interactive activity or discussion about real-life applications of the concept. This helps them see the relevance of the lesson in daily life.
7.Evaluation
As a teacher, I assess students’ understanding by giving a short quiz or test. This allows me to measure their learning progress and identify areas for improvement.
8.Assignment
As a teacher, I assign follow-up work for students to complete at home. This reinforces their learning and encourages independent problem-solving.
2.Time management and organizing activities
To maximize the time available, which is 45 minutes, when preparing the lesson plan, I avoid activities that take up a lot of time, and when partaking I start with a short but effective opening, then go straight into the core of learning with interesting and interactive methods. I keep each activity within the allotted time without spending too much time on one particular section.I avoid lengthy explanations by getting straight to the key points and engaging students in discussions or exploratory activities. If there are questions or clarifications, I manage them efficiently so as not to disrupt the flow of learning.
For evaluation, I use a quick yet effective way of gauging student understanding. I also ensure that follow-up assignments are given with clear instructions so that they can be done independently without taking up class time.
3. Problem solving
Problem solving is used to train critical and analytical thinking. Students are given a relevant problem, analyzed, and find a solution independently or in groups. Discussion and reflection help them evaluate their thought process and improve future approaches. This method improves understanding of the material as well as logical and creative thinking skills.
4. Classroom managemet
Effective classroom management ensures that learning is orderly and conducive. At the beginning of learning, teaching students classroom rules, such as listening to the teacher, not using cell phones without permission, and raising hands before speaking, helps to create an environment of discipline and mutual respect. By applying these rules consistently, students are more focused, interactions are more purposeful, and the teaching and learning process goes well.
